Service: Community Conscious Action Oriented For the 21st Century

Service, a founding principle of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is the theme of the 2017 Anthology. Zeta is a world class organization engaged in projects and initiatives that impact the lives of individuals, communities and organizations world-wide. The 2017 service anthology is opportunity for regions, states, chapters, auxiliaries (Amicae and youth group members) and individuals to submit documents and images of the many endeavors of service. Ideas for submissions include, but are not limited to:

  • Named service projects in a chapter, state or region; include service awards if any.
  • Multi-group service projects – experiences or outcomes of working with chapter and auxilliaries.
  • Pan-Hellenic projects – collaborative projects with the Divine Nine groups and service projects.
  • Model programs–feature projects i.e. Girls to Pearls.
  • Before and after stories featuring the impact of service projects.
  • Narratives including accomplishments of global projects, i.e., Peace Corps, missions abroad
  • Description, accomplishments and impacts of Zeta’s project with an African village –Well Project.
  • Conference projects–at state, regional and Boules.
  • Service initiatives that stand on their own, i.e., Social Action, Z.H.O.P.E, (add more).
  • Submissions that describe projects and service programs initiated by Grand Basilei.

  • Submission Forms

    • All entries must be submitted only by using the form below.
    • Form used for all service submissions (see below).
  • First Page

    • The author’s name and contact information should appear on the top left side of each page.
    • On the top right side, begin page numbers. All pages should be numbered.
    • Each submission must have its own original title.
    • The submission’s title, in caps, should be centered.
  • Format and Style

    • The author’s name and contact information should appear on the top left side of each page.
    • On the top right side, begin page numbers. All pages should be numbered.

  • Photographs

    • Photographs should be submitted separately from the text.
    • Use high resolution photos at least 1MB in size and in .jpeg format. Prefer DPI quality.
    • Up to five photographs per submission will be included.
    • Label each photograph with your name, chapter or auxiliary.
    • Each photograph should have a caption and those photographed should be identified.
    • Send photo release with each photo.
    • Limit of five (5) from each person (action shots preferred instead of poses)
    • Camera quality photo preferred as to cell phone to ensure print quality.
    • Do not submit photograph inside/or attached to the documents. Photographs must be a separate document. (Photographs may be included in the same email, but a separate document).
  • MISCELLANEOUS

    • Permissions must be filed for previously published submissions.
    • All authors are responsible for obtaining and filing all applicable permissions for quotations, excerpts or poems, not in the public domain or attributed to or copyrighted by another author or published elsewhere that are used in your submission.
    • Up to two (2) submissions will be accepted from any one author.
    • All submissions will be edited for subject, grammar, length, spelling and syntax.

  • Deadline

    • NOVEMBER 15, 2017 Submissions received by this date will receive the highest priority for publication.
